Salman Khan spoke about his parents’ marriage during a press meet ahead of his upcoming release, Sikandar. here’s what he has to say about it:
Actor Salman Khan has opened up about the challenges his parents, Salim Khan and Salma Khan, faced in their marriage. Contrary to what one might expect, Salman revealed that the main issue was not their religious differences but his father’s profession as a screenwriter. Salman on reason behind parents’ marital issues
Salman spoke about his parents’ marriage during a press meet ahead of his upcoming release, Sikandar. During an interaction with select journalists, he shared that the main issue in his parents’ marriage was not the difference in religion. But his father’s profession. He asserted that the objections from his maternal side were never about the cultural practices. He said that the real concern at the time was his father’s profession in the film industry.
Salman said, “It was never about the difference in the Hindu and Muslim culture and the practices, the bigger and more concerning thing at that time was, ‘Ye toh film line se hain’”.
Along with his partner Javed Akhtar, Salim is credited with giving many blockbusters, including Don and Sholay. Salim Khan tied the knot with Salma on November 1964. They are parents to four children – Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, and Alvira. In 1981, Salim married actor Helen.
Salman Khan’s upcoming film
Salman is eager for the release of his film Sikandar. The film’s trailer was released last week. The film is backed by Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The film is directed by, AR Murugadoss, known for directing Tamil and Hindi films such as Ghajini, Thuppakki, Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty and Sarkar. Sikandar also stars Kajal Aggarwal and Rashmika Mandanna. The film is slated to be released in theatres on Eid 2025.
